The Norwegian genes in the family originated from Byneset, Trondheim, Norway. John Arthur John, son of Peter Johnson and Marie Peterson, was born In Trondheim on October 7, 1862.  He and his brother, Lars Louis Johnson crossed the Atlantic and arrived in the United States in 1880, according to the 1900 United States Census.  They settled in the upper peninsula of Michigan near the Geogobic Mining areas.
